Five Reasons for Choosing a Videographer

Five Reasons for Choosing a Videographer from the Destination Chosen for Destination Wedding!

Getting married in Tipperary - Brides in MunsterMany couples who are ready to tie the knot are increasingly leaning towards the destination wedding as a viable alternative to having the ceremony locally. There are some great reasons why this option is gaining popularity. The scale of a destination wedding is usually limited, with a smaller guest list. That means more time with family and close friends, and less time worrying about the details of preparation and planning. And you’ll have a chance to stamp your own style of the ceremony by picking a unique, fun, and different location.
And the destination itself becomes a part of the event, with no stressful travel post-ceremony to arrive at the honeymoon location and an amazing backdrop that lets everyone enjoy themselves as well as celebrating the special day with you.
Among the many items that most couples have to check off their list when preparing for their wedding is hiring the services of a wedding video editing videographer. But most resorts and venues that specialize in hosting destination weddings will have the services of a videographer available to capture the memories of the day. Here are five reasons why selecting your wedding video editing professional from the destination you’ve chosen is a great idea.
The simple matter of logistics

A destination wedding is, by definition, one that will require some degree of travel. So hiring a local videographer to do your wedding shoot and wedding video editing is an impractical idea. It’s probably very unlikely that they’ll want to take the time, and you pay the expense, to have them travel a long distance to be at the ceremony.
And the situation would be even worse for the local wedding video editing pro if the destination requires an airline flight. Then they’re looking at the added cost and hassle of transporting their equipment.
You’ll probably save money
Apart from the transportation responsibility of a local videographer, choosing the videographer who is associated with the destination venue will probably save you money in another way.
Many wedding destinations realize what an important income source weddings can be, and will do all that they can to encourage couples to choose a destination wedding for their nuptials. One of the ways they’ll do this is to offer packages that combine many of the services you’d normally pay for separately, like wedding video editing, into the cost of the overall package.

One less thing to worry about

Getting married in Tipperary - Brides in MunsterOne of the appeals of a destination wedding is the relative simplicity of planning the event. Many resorts have full-time staff devoted to nothing else but wedding planning and execution. They’ll be working with professional videographers whose work they know, and with whom they have excellent working relationships.
Be sure that the staff at the destination will work in close concert with the videographer to capture the essence of your special day in a professional manner. Be advised that some destinations may offer the option of working with several different videographers. If so, be sure to contact them and check out some samples of their wedding video editing work.
Your videographer knows the venue
Destination weddings often have dramatic backdrops – a romantic chalet, an unspoiled beach, or a stunning vista. A videographer who works with wedding destinations knows the best way to incorporate the scenery and venue into your wedding video. As there is a saying, “You can’t beat experience.”
With their steady hand on the camera, you can be sure that the product of their wedding video editing will be well-framed and shot, with consistent exposure levels, proper lighting, and excellent audio recording levels.
Getting married in Tipperary - Brides in MunsterYou’ll get a showstopper of a video
Remember the reasons you decided that you wanted a destination wedding? Undoubtedly one of them was that you want something that will stand out, and create special memories for you, as well as something that reflects your sense of taste and style. And in the end, one of the most tangible expressions of this will be the video of your ceremony, shot by someone who knows how to capture the spirit of your destination and combine it with the sincerity of your vows.
Wedding video editing and videography is an art. To get the best results, you should rely upon those who know where they’re shooting the best. By selecting a videographer from the destination chosen for the destination wedding, you’re making a wise choice in how you have the memories of your special trip, and special day, recorded and presented.
Choose wisely, and don’t hesitate to select a videographer from the destination you’ve chosen for your destination wedding. It’s a smart decision that will pay off in reduced costs, more peace of mind, less stress, and great results.

Tipperary Hotels for your wedding

DSC08130This week’s article is about a great hotel for your wedding day in Tipperary.

Over the years filming wedding videos I have come across some fabulous hotels and this week is all about  the Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh, Co Tipperary.

The Great National Abbey Court Hotel is one of Ireland’s landmark 3* hotels, located in Nenagh, a town bursting with life and steeped in history.

From the moment you step inside the Great National Abbey Court Hotel in Nenagh you’ll find Irish hospitality, professionalism and individual service only matched by a breath-taking array of business and leisure facilities. The hotel is one of the finest Wedding Venues in Tipperary and also boasts top class Conference facilities. This is all wrapped up in the hotel’s quirky features: from an oasis that is the Great National Abbey Court’s extensive gardens to family friendly facilities that are the envy of hotels nationwide.

As a videographer I get to see how things operate on a wedding day behind the scenes so to speak!  When I arrive to the Abbey Court on the day of a wedding I am greeted by Ray, the Deputy Manager, and right away Ray will fill me in on the proceedings of the evening while we await the arrival of the bride and groom.  At this point guests are enjoying a fantastic selection of sandwiches, mouth-watering scones and of course the life-saver: tea & coffee! I must say the food for the guests as they arrive sometimes after a long drive is very welcome and appetising!

When the newly married couple arrive Ray is on hand to greet them with red carpet and champagne.  From here the couple are lead in to the hotel to mingle with their guests and at this point it’s my chance to get some great footage of the couple chatting and relaxing with their guests.  Soon after this their photographer will take the couple to the fabulous gardens the Abbey Court has on offer for some family and friends photographs. I also get some quality fly-on-the-wall footage at this point.

It’s then time for me to go to the wedding reception room to film the little details the couple might have placed on tables etc.  The room layout is always impeccable – clean, well laid out, with fantastic mood lighting and not a saucer  out of place!

Time to call in the guests!  The Abbey Court makes sure no one is waiting for their meal as the bell is rang in good time – this is a sign of a well ran hotel with a great team.  The couple are applauded into the room with their favourite piece of music which can be great fun.  Ray is on the ball when it comes to wedding suppliers, especially videographers – he makes sure we are tuned into the hotel system so our audio is 100% for the speeches and also makes sure we are present at the important times, he will come looking for us!

I hope my small article on this great hotel has done it justice.  Of course The Abbey Court is there for a lot more use than just weddings, I’m told it’s a fantastic hotel to stay in and I know from experience that the food is top class. And the staff?   Well I will put it simply … 100% award winning team!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my visits to the Abbey Court, and if you are planning on getting married in this great hotel and would like to see a sample of a wedding I have filmed there please get in touch.

Wedding Favour ideas

My Sweet Cart wedding sweets , wedding video tipperaryIt goes without saying that your wedding day is an extremely special occasion and one of the biggest days of your life. Of course for all brides and grooms the actual wedding ceremony is the most important part but sharing your special day with your closest friends and family is also a vital element for a lot of people. It is becoming commonplace for many brides and grooms to recognise the love and friendship of their guests with a small token of their appreciation.
There are literally hundreds of different ideas for wedding favours that you can use but below are just a small selection. All of these are becoming more frequent at Irish weddings in places all over  Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow and Waterford.
You don’t have to break the bank
Weddings can be very expensive occasions, and some things such as videography are best handled by a professional such as Abbey Video Productions, due to my extensive experience and knowledge of all the local and distant hotels and my years of wedding videography.
However when it comes to things such as invitations and wedding favours, there’s no need to hire an expensive wedding planner as it really is the thought that counts.
A sweet idea
One of the most popular wedding favours that won’t decimate your wedding budget is sweets and in particular, Love Hearts. They have obvious connotations with love and togetherness and you can customise the wrappers to include your own personal message. Other sweet companies also offer a similar service and although Love Hearts are arguably the most appropriate it really is up to the bride and groom to choose which sweets to have, possibly their own favourites.A small surprise to unwrap.  Favour envelopes are another increasingly popular idea and anything can be placed in them and left as a surprise for your guests. A photograph or a note of thanks can be especially heartfelt for guests, many of whom may have travelled a long way to be present.
Scented candles are also growing in popularity as a wedding favour and are often found at Irish weddings in Tipperary and Kilkenny in particular. The candles can be personalised with your own unique message or you can buy them ‘off the shelf’ but either way they will create a wonderful aroma in the room and give your guests a lasting memory of the day that they can take home and keep.
Of course you can break the bank if you choose to, While most brides and grooms have a limited budget which they’ll try to stick rigidly to, some couples will be able to lavish expensive wedding favours on their guests. If you can afford to then, why not?

Wedding sweets,My Sweet Cart wedding sweets carts,Sweets are one thing but a handmade cake with a personalised message will really impress your guests and they’ll certainly remember the wedding for a long time to come.
Any form of personalised gift will be sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests and items such as hip flasks, passport holders and wallets can all be customised with a unique message for a real personal touch.
Whichever wedding favours you decide to go with, they can be incorporated into the videography by Abbey Video Productions so that you have a permanent reminder of the tokens of gratitude you had on your special day. Light up Letters, Trend at Irish weddings ?

brides in tipperary weddings in munsterOver the years of filming wedding videos all over Ireland, trends come and go, from the Chocolate Fountain, the sweet cart and now, Light up Letters these letters can say anything you wish, from welcoming your guests to  your wedding, to the all important word LOVE .For all couples, their wedding day is a unique and memorable occasion. No matter how many weddings they may go to as guests, no day will ever be as amazing as theirs.

However for guests, a lot of weddings that they go to can feel pretty similar and not that unique at all. Now on one hand, this isn’t really an issue for prenuptial couples to worry about as it’s their special day after all, but how can they help to make the day just as memorable for their guests as it is for them? At many Irish weddings these days as I have seen in areas like Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow and Waterford there is a growing trend of light up letters taking centre stage in the function room. and yes it look great! These dazzling displays are proving to be a wonderful addition to many weddings across Ireland and for videography companies like Wedding Videographers Kilkenny  there are no problems capturing the magnificence of these lights and incorporating them into the wedding videos that I produce for happy couples.

wedding-accommodationThe light up letters come in a range of sizes so for couples who are looking for a discreet display there are small options available which are ideal for the top table at the wedding meal. However for the bride and groom who really want to dazzle their guests, large light up letters which are ideal for placing at the front of the dance floor are being more commonly hired in many parts of Ireland, including Tipperary and Kilkenny.
These larger letters are approximately 5 ft tall so they’re certainly big enough to be easily seen but not so large that they become obtrusive.
For many brides and grooms it is understandable that they will want their wedding venue to be set up in advance without the need to make alterations during the day. However should they wish to then it’s not a big job as the light up letters are easily mobile due to their surprisingly light weight. They are also versatile and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use so they can be appreciated whatever the weather. If the bride and groom are looking for outdoor photographs at night with a stunning backdrop then these lights are ideal. Equally, if they want them moved from the edge of the dance floor during the evening to make more space then this is also easily done due to their lightweight construction.

The light up letters provide a stunning background scenery which guests will be queuing up to take photographs of and will remember long after the big day.Experienced videography professionals such as Wedding Videographers Kilkenny  can seamlessly highlight the light up letters in their footage so that the bride and groom will have a permanent reminder of their special day that they can hold on to forever. So if you are planing your special day give me a call or drop me an e-mail and we can discuss your wedding video let tit be in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford Carlow or indeed any  county in Ireland.   http://ibride.com/vendors/810359/abbey-video-productions/

Hope my blog was someway helpful to you in your planing for that special day ~ Joe

Till debt do us part / wedding videography

But I  found this last week and thought it might make some interesting reading, Over the years of filming wedding videos in Tipperary / Kilkenny  and all over Ireland I get to see some  fantastic wedding days, from the Engagement party  right up to when the bride and groom dance the night away with family and friends on the big day. Its a pleasure to be part  of a couples wedding day to be among their family’s and friends for quite a number of hours on the day and some times for the Engagement party! But I did write a little about wedding and the way they change over the years but this post touches on the prices, which in these times is a BIG factor with all the costs so have a read and please comment and give me your thoughts.

The web: The web is now the main part and plays a huge part for couples planning their wedding , Google is a great friend to all to find wedding suppliers, get prices, information, and try and get some help with that dreaded  speech. Google even has a wedding planning site to help you with your wedding you can see it here , even for  us wedding suppliers Google and the web is a powerful tool to have at our fingertips, when you type in wedding video Tipperary orKilkenny I am number one in the Organic search for wedding videos, this I am very proud of !  so get clicking and find you wedding suppler in your local area. They say you can’t put a price on wedded bliss, but €24,000 is a start. Yes, this is the amount that the average couple spent on getting married last year. There are several reasons for this, including the honeymoon, venue and décor. Here are a few other interesting facts about the change in trends for the big day:

Engagement:

Brides In Tipperary - abbey video
Brides In Tipperary

The length of time for which a couple are engaged has become shorter. In 2012, most couples were engaged for at least 2 years before getting married. However, last year, the majority waited just 13-18 months. As well as this, almost one in four couples live together for at least five years before walking up the aisle. On average, brides are getting married in their late twenties, while grooms are in their early thirties.

Winter Wedding:

DSC02152December is now the most popular month to get engaged, with February following behind.Abbey Video  have filmed some lovely Weddings over the years, the lovely crisp light, the shadows and the frosty blue skies. The hotels ready for Christmas with their decorations, and of course the mulled wine.

Walking Up the Aisle:

DSC05602Although up to a quarter of couples shun a church wedding, it is still the most popular venue in which to hold a wedding.  In years gone by Churches were the place to get wed now you can  get married anywhere you like to a certain extent, and it’s nice for people that are not religious  to have this choice.

Speeches:

rsz_dsc01067-300x169-150x150

Even though it is still the main preference to have the speeches after the meal, popularity is increasing for having the speeches before the meal as everyone is more relaxed and can enjoy their dinner better.  Speeches they say should be like a mini skirt… long enough to cover the  essentials  but short enough to keep you interested, and it’s true, people do tend to want to get up after a large feed and walk around a bit before the dancing starts, but if your speeches go on too long  it’s hard to keep them entertained. The typical number of guests sitting for the meal is 101-150, with an approximate price range of €35 – €60 per head.  ( I remember doing a video a few years back and there were 380 sitting down for the meal!

Reception Venue:

Abbey Video Productions
Abbey Video Productions
Civil Partnership Kilkeny

Although hotels remain the top choice for couples as their wedding reception venue, other choices are available and popular among couples.  These include country houses, which host more than 20 percent of Irish weddings, as well as restaurants.  We have some fantastic hotels here in Tipperary with the likes of Clonmel Park,  Hotel Minella Clonmel, Raheen House,  then just over the border in Kilkenny you have  The Newpark Hotel, the Ormond Hotel, and a lot more.

“How much”, I hear you ask?   read on ……..

They tell us an average wedding cost €24,000

Ok so what costs  all this money?  Well below is the average amount spent on various aspects of a wedding:

Venue : €9,825

Band: €1,850

DJ : €350

Photographer: €1,435

Videographer : €850

Wedding dress:  €1,570

Bridesmaid dresses : €550

Suits : €626

Ceremony music: €415

Wedding car: €420

Make up €265

Hair and others  €235

Jewellery €510

Wedding cake : €340

Flowers  €615

Favours €225

Candles €125

Hen / Stag : €500

Honeymoon: €4950

Extras : €1,170

And don’t think you will be finished with just the above, as your wedding day draws near there is always some thing that crops up, so make a budget and stick to it!

Civil Ceremony Alternatives;

Brides In Tipperary - abbey video
Brides In Tipperary

After All, Your Big Day Deserves more than the Registrar’s Office.
Getting married is one of life’s biggest events and every couple wants it to be as memorable as possible for all the right reasons.
Now of course there is nothing wrong with a traditional civil ceremony and after all, the most important part of the day is the actual marriage itself, although, I have filmed a lot of Civil ceremony’s In and around Tipperary and Kilkenny and getting hitched in a registrar’s office may not be the most romantic of settings or the day you’ve always dreamed of. Your wedding is something that you (hopefully) will only be doing once so it’s worth making that extra effort to ensure the day is as special and unique to you as possible. The following alternative ceremonies will give you a brief idea of how you can make the day that little bit more special.

Brides In Munster, irish wedding videographer, munster wedding video, Tipperary Wedding News, Wedding DVD Cashel, Wedding Video North Tipperary, Wedding Videographer Thurles, Wedding Videos Tipperary
                         Wedding suppliers

The Possibilities are endless there are now more ways than ever for brides and grooms to mark their special day and these alternative ceremonies are becoming ever more popular around the world and especially in Ireland
A ‘knot tying’ ceremony
One of the most unique alternatives is known as a ‘knot-tying’ ceremony. Here, the couple can demonstrate their combined strength by tying a fisherman’s knot. Getting tighter with pressure this knot is meant to signify a couple’s strength. Ideally the material used in this ceremony should have some significance, for example a strip of cloth from the dress that the bride wore on the first date if possible. Every ceremony is unique so it is entirely up to the happy couple but this is certainly one idea which is becoming more popular.
Other alternatives

wedding video tipperary Brides In Tipperary
                Tipperary Weddings

Another alternative which is becoming increasingly popular is a sand ceremony. In this ceremony, the couple mix two different colours of sand into one container which symbolises their hearts and lives becoming entwined. The fact that it is extremely difficult to separate the two colours once they have been mixed is also highly significant as this is a reflection of the couple being joined together and unable to be separated.
A water ceremony works in much the same way as a sand ceremony with each partner having a container of coloured water which is unique to them and then pouring it into one joint container, therefore symbolising unity and togetherness.

brides_choice_awards_finalist_fb_profile_360x360_2015_v2A Lasting Memento
As your wedding day is such a unique and special occasion it is well worth having a memento which will last forever and I can make that memory last forever so no matter where your getting married let it be  Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow or Waterford or anywhere in Ireland my packages are designed to suit you in terms of style and budget. Videography companies like Abbey Video Productions have experience in recording all manner of ceremonies, indoors and outdoors and in various locations so wherever your ceremony takes place, I can record it without any problems.

A post by Abbey Video Productions

Well I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas, and a lovely time with family and friends as I did.  Wedding Video Bookings for 2016 are pouring in the last few days. Even January this year is as busy as July! It’s something I have never encountered before but is great to see. Even  2017  is well booked at the moment and  2018 is starting already. Throughout the year, I have had to recommend some well heeled colleagues of mine to brides for whom I was booked for their date. If I am booked, I don’t just send them a name of the first  videographer that springs to mind. I have a few professional guys that I hold in the highest regard and we always recommend each other, should one of us be booked. With this way of working, no couple will get the run around with different prices. I would never recommend someone I would not use my self.

Tomorrow  its back to work  with my first wedding of this mad busy time of year is in  Tipperary town tomorrow,  Tuesday is Inch near Thurles and then on to  Kilkenny and to the the fantastic Lyrath hotel.  And of course New Years eve is a very popular choice with couples all over Ireland Solohead just a few miles from me is where you will find me that day, its great to be local this time of year. It’s this that has kept me ahead of other other “video guys “, while still offering a Professional Affordable and Unobtrusive service.   So, if you are planning your wedding for  this year, you’d better be quick and contact me now, or even for 2016/ 2017 as I am  being booked very fast. To see my new and unique way of how your wedding video could look, give me a call. I will try to match your service area, along with the hotel  that you might be using, with a full wedding DVD to view at home. This way, you get a feel of my true work

Also I got  many thank you cards over  Christmas from couples whose weddings I have filmed over the year, with 80%  of them from around Tipperary where most of my work is.  It’s great to get feedback from brides, it shows we are doing a great job and they enjoyed their wedding DVDs.

Wedding videography is a record of your day the way you would like it told, and along with our  camera skills and editing this can be achieved.  No wedding is the same and any videographer that goes out to do a job should never treat it like “yesterdays wedding” –  every couple has different ideas of what they think their wedding video should look and feel like and  I love to hear this, because it gives me a clear picture of what they are seeing.  When the day arrives I keep this in mind, and work to achieve it.

So Happy New year to you all. and If your planing on ” tieing the knot” or you know someone who is, give me a call I can guarantee you wont be disappoint  in price or quality   ( All photos  © Abbey Video)
