Call to the Coachman Bar Clonmel

Call to the Coachman Bar Clonmel Brides in Tipperary

Want to hear your wedding band? Then call to the Coachman Bar Clonmel

I recently had the pleasure of visiting theThe Coachman Bar in Clonmel and what a fantastic night was had by all. This fabulous bar is situated in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. The Coachman – formally known as Larry Tobins/Slievenamon – is located at 13/14 Parnell Street. The premises boasts three bars including two function rooms. Live entertainment takes place four nights a week satisfying all ages. Recently modernised and refurbished, the premises offers the character and classical lines of yesterday, but the luxuries of today. With extensive street frontage, it stands prominently in Parnell Street. The business is privately owened by the Shanahan family for the past 25 years, so plenty of knowledge of the bar and cabaret going in their favour.

As a wedding videographer here in Tipperary, I get asked lots of times about wedding bands in and around the Tipperary area and further afield. The best way to choose your wedding band is go to hear them. But, as it was brought to my attention of late, people don’t like “gate crashing” a wedding party to hear a band playing. I can see their point, but on my visit to the The Coachman BarClonmel, I saw a band setting up in the room and recognised them from the many weddings I video in Dundrum House Hotel, Ballykisteen Hotel in Tipperary and other hotels. I went up and spoke to the band – a very popular band, I might say. I wont name them as it would not be fair on other great bands. Durring the conversation, we got to chat about weddings and all the places we meet over the year. He explained to me that 3 couples were coming to the The Coachman Bar that night to hear them, as they did not like the idea of  going to someone’s wedding party to hear them.

This is a fantastic idea, putting no pressure on the couple. They can stay for a drink in the lovely comforts of the bar and chat to a band member and ask him to play a certain song they might want at their wedding. As the night went on and the band in question WAS fantastic, I might add, I did see the couples meet them and, along with the band getting a booking, so did I. They introduced them to me, so happy days all around. So, brides, keep an eye on the The Coachman Bar face book, and The Nationalist for further great wedding bands playing live at the The Coachman you can contact them here ?on 052 61 21299

Wedding video Kilkenny
Wedding video Kilkenny

Yesterday evening I took  two local wedding DVD bookings for the Tipperary / Kilkenny areas for 2015, which incidentally looks to be another great year. It’s funny the way wedding bookings have changed in the last year or so. Couples often booked a bit nearer the date of their wedding, I guess due to budget constraints of the last  few years or so, but of late they are booking one and two years in advance – which  I’m not complaining about!  It’s great to see there’s maybe some confidence in our country’s economy again.  There is always something nice about a local wedding – working with the people you see every day.  And getting lots of referrals from local  couples, having viewed their completed wedding DVDs , is worth its weight in gold.  Talking about gold, price is not too much of a problem any more when brides or grooms enquire regarding a wedding video package.  I remember not too long ago the BIG question was HOW MUCH??.. Well that’s like asking how long is a piece of string?!  Everywedding  DVD is different as regards the needs of the couple let it be price, the type of package they might want or the amount of coverage.  I have often said to couples my price starts at  €400 and they can build on that and sure enough they do – 90% of them go for my top package, which starts at the Bride’s home and includes a  selection of dances that evening, giving fantastic coverage and huge value for their money.  On the other hand I have lots of weddings over the different borders such as Kilkenny, Waterford, Carlow, Limerick and Cork, and it’s like all wedding venues – it’s nice to visit these place as well and get to know new people at the weddings. Of course getting more referrals  along the way via the internet  is a huge part of business these days but word of mouth is most ingratiating.wedding

rsz_dsc01053-300x169 Speaking of local weddings, I was filming  a wedding with  Selina O’Meara on Friday  last in Lisvernane Church just outside Tipperary town.  I met Selina  again just last week in the  Abbey Court Hotel in  Nenagh.  Selina is a fantastic wedding photographer, so quick off the mark and achieving  stunning  photography as she goes.  We were discussing wedding videography and photography and the way things have changed over time – for the better I think as people have become more price conscious and shop around a bit more for better value.  But it’s not always about getting a cheap wedding video or  cheap wedding photographs, you also have to think of the end product, which I sometimes remind clients of.  So by all means shop around, but the cheapest is not always a good idea, after all you will still want to play your wedding DVDs in 20 years time or maybe in 40 years your children will take it out and have a look at the fashions of  2014 /15/16 and so it is of utmost importance to have your wedding day filmed by a professional wedding videographer / photographer.

Brides In Munster, irish wedding videographer, munster wedding video, Tipperary Wedding News, Wedding DVD Cashel, Wedding Video North Tipperary, Wedding Videographer Thurles, Wedding Videos TipperaryAnd I guess that’s why Edel Hanley from Lisvernane chose Selina and myself  to work for her on her wedding day.  Edel  is of course a Tipperary football all star and the little church at Lisvernane was packed with her team mates, family and friends in the glorious sunshine of a May Friday.  Selina took them to Christ the King for the bridal party photo shoot and what a spectacular setting it was!  The day was clear and the Galtee  Mountains looked so near you could almost touch them!  Afterwards Edel and Shane headed to Aherlow House Hotel for a fantastic wedding reception.  Aherlow House Hotel is again my stop next Saturday, so let’s hope for more sunshine!

A little  something  I have been reading up on of late is  Moposa – see it here on the link  http://www.aherlowhouse.ie/moposa.html    ok a little insight to it ….

Moposa enables you to share more of the wedding  details with family and friends both at home and abroad should you wish to  simplify the planning process and save time and money along the way.  Some of the fantastic tools that are provided through Moposa include your own guest list manager, personal-URL wedding website with online RSVP, budget planner, guest text messaging and ‘drag-n-drop’ seating  planning for the function rooms. You can even import guests from you face book!  I just thought it was a great little wedding  planingtool.

4. Years down the road

Twenty years or more from now your children can relive your wedding video. Remember, your wedding video is not just for a day, it’s forever – a keepsake for your children’s children.

5. Is it in our budget?

We have heard of so many disappointed couples who did not have a video for their wedding day for one reason or another.  Maybe in the heat of the moment they thought they would not need one, or swapped it for a few extra flowers.  Some couples might get a family member or friend to video bits of their day, but apart from putting pressure on the guest they won’t have the professional equipment and therefore quality  that a professional videographer will have. We at Abbey Video Productions are like our motto: we are Professional, Affordable, Unobtrusive. At the end of the day, it’s one day: YOUR day and I am sure it’s a day you never want to forget.

Local Wedding Suppliers Tipperary, Brides In Munster

hen_night_balloon1Once a couple announce their engagement, the girls immediately think of the hen party, the Chief Bridesmaid gets to work /organize the Hen but she should keep in mind the brides wishes/ ideas as well but usually the Bride tell them where they might want go, what they want to do for the hen party, who should attend and so on. So how do you organize the best Hen Party ever?

While most popular destinations, are just a short flight away, a Bride can go anywhere for her Hen. There are an amount of places the chief bridesmaid can choose from to take the bride and all her friends……   well the ones the bride wants to attend! And of course make sure you check with her on the invite part! Planning to take away 10 people some times more needs a lot of  organizing , collecting the money for flights, the odd drink or 20 travel insurance, and a lot more to think of, so its best if the chief bridesmaid gets some help on this, meet with people check out their budgets which is very important these days.

Where to go …….  Barcelona has become an increasingly popular destination we understand but you have the likes of Lanzarote, Portuga, and many more, London is a great place as well, but don’t forget our own Dingle a fabulous little town in Kerry, I have had many great holidays there and every weekend its packed with Hen & Stag dos but where ever you go have but be safe !

Kilshaine House

Set in the magnificent rolling countryside of South Tipperary, this large Victorian house is at the end of a half mile long driveway and surrounded by 320 acres of private parkland which includes a trout river and landscaped gardens with some stunning features: great trees, an 1860 palm house, a large walled garden – and a ballroom in an orangerie, where 200 guests can be seated for a gala dinner.

The house has recently been meticulously restored for special events and is now one of Ireland’s most desirable private venues. An impressive high-ceilinged hall with marble columns and beautiful plasterwork sets the tone, and a series of fine rooms – drawing room, library, dining room and morning room – all share magnificent views across the Tipperary landscape.

There are several churches to choose from in the area, and wedding blessings can be held at Kilshane. The champagne reception is hosted in the Conservatory, followed by dinner in the Orangerie, which has three French doors opening onto a terrace overlooking the lake. This is one of Tipperary most beautful views and a gem for the likes of Video & Photography for your day.

Schuzan-Soprano Duo

Schuzan-Soprano Duo

It was out of the love of the romantic and the quirky that Schuzan was born – a classically trained Soprano Duo designed to mark occasions with unique style.

Their sound is based on a legato fusion of two harmonized voices and their repertoire is universal and fresh whilst never losing sight of the romantic and individuality of each occasion.

Schuzan like to meet the couple and get a sense of the story for each wedding day – they see themselves as an adjunct to the celebration that should tally with the couple and their future aspirations. Sparkling in black sequins, equipped with logo-printed instrument accessories they excel in luxury giving people a real sense that you get way beyond what you pay for.
